Maps¶
Maps place spatial context directly on the report — parcels, jurisdictions, assets, and basemap imagery.
Goal¶
Choose a map source and configure a map frame that renders in Preview.
Prerequisites¶
- A report is open
- For database/service maps: a working connection in Connection Manager
Map workflow¶
- On the Design tab, select the Map tool (or use the Map Wizard).
- Place the map on a band.
- In Properties, choose a Map source.
- Configure connection, layer/SQL, extent, symbology, and labels.
- Preview to render the map image.

Tips¶
Tip
Start with a simple PostGIS or Current Report Dataset map, then add basemap and labels.
Note
Map rendering requires the map runtime components installed with Report Studio. If maps show placeholders, see Troubleshooting.
