XYZ Tiles

XYZ tile endpoints can be referenced as a map source, and common XYZ basemaps are also available under feature maps.

Goal

Use XYZ imagery with a map frame.

Steps

As a map source

1. Select the map element.
2. Choose XYZ as the map source.
3. Enter the tile/service URL provided for your organization.
4. Preview.

As a basemap under feature maps

When using database feature sources (for example PostGIS), open map properties and choose a basemap such as OSM, OpenFreeMap, or ESRI Imagery where offered.

Tips

Note

XYZ-as-source behavior uses the service URL as map imagery. Prefer feature sources plus a basemap when you need attributed GIS features and labels.
