Labels

Map labels place attribute text on features for database/feature map sources.

Goal

Turn on and configure feature labels for a map.

Prerequisites

  • Map source supports labels (feature/database sources)
  • Attribute fields are available from the layer or query

Steps

  1. Select the map element.
  2. Open the Labels panel in Map Properties.
  3. Enable labels and choose the label field.
  4. Adjust font, size, and placement options available in the panel.
  5. Preview.

Result

Feature labels appear on the rendered map image.

Tips

Tip

Dense layers may need smaller type or fewer labeled features for readability.

Note

Label controls apply to supported feature sources. Service image sources (some WMS/GeoServer configurations) may already include labels from the server style.
