Group Header

The Group Header prints at the start of each data group (for example, once per region or category). Create groups from the Design group workflow, then place headings or subtotals lead-ins in this band.

Goal

Use the Group Header band correctly in your report layout.

Prerequisites

  • A report is open on the Design tab

Steps

  1. Open the Design tab.
  2. In the Design explorer, select the Group Header band (create or enable it if your report does not show it yet).
  3. Set the band height in Properties if needed.
  4. Place elements (labels, fields, images, and so on) inside the band.

  1. Preview the report to confirm the band prints at the expected time.

Result

Content in the Group Header band appears according to the band’s role in the page/group lifecycle.

Tips

Tip

Put the group field value in the Group Header so readers know which section they are viewing.

Note

Group Header and Group Footer appear after you define a group on the report.
